Doris Day the Blogger, a one woman Doris Day Tribute and the Globe….

Filed under: Doris Day General — webmaster @ 5:59 pm

What a pleasant surprise to see Doris Day blogging on the CNN blog. It certainly is a quick and effective way to send her message of animal welfare to the whole world. Doris got over 380 responses , so, a lot of people listen when Doris writes.

Hopefully, Doris will continue blogging. Her message is very important. How we treat the vulnerable in our society, domestic animals are totally dependent on us for their well being, is a reflection of our true humanity. It is a reflection of the mental health of our society. Let’s all be good citizens and look out for the animals as we should also look out for the children, the handicapped and other vulnerable members of our society.

Actress to dramatize life of Doris Day

WARREN —Damaris Peters Pike, an actress and impersonator noted for her Women of Note performances, will speak at 10:30 a.m. April 15 at Packard Music Hall as the final lecturer in the Trumbull Town Hall series.

Pike launched Women of Note in 1988, using her knowledge of music history to dramatize the life of women in the music field. She founded the Opera Workshop at Hiram College, where she teaches and directs the women’s chorus. For her Packard appearance, she will perform “Que Sera, Sera — Remembering Doris Day.”
…..
I sent Joe to check out this show as he lives close by. According to him, there were at least 500 people at the Packard Music Hall, mostly women. The entrance was $25.00 , but Joe was lucky as one woman offered him a free ticket.
Ms.Pike told the Doris Day story in the first person and even sang some songs. According to Joe, she didn’t sound at all like Doris, but otherwise the performance was entertaining. Ms. Pike got a standing ovation for her performance.
It’s great to see that Doris Day is still very appreciated in her birth State of Ohio.

The Globe’s obsession with Doris Day:
Disclaimer: I didn’t buy the Globe, it’s all on the Net.
Now I know for sure that the Globe is lying since I was in Carmel when Doris Day called Magic 63 radio and spoke with the host Ed D. Doris Day is as sharp as a tack and was totally on the ball talking to the host with whom she chatted in a down to earth manner for an hour. Her voice sounded great. Doris said she was hoarse due to the trees around her house. She sounded crystal clear and even sang a few bars from a song.
About her being forgetful: Ed the host wasn’t too clear that he was talking about her radio show and she thought that he was talking about her TV show. That’s all there was to it and she couldn’t remember John Denvers last name, but she knew his real, German, last name. The host didn’t know the name either. Most of us forget things once once in a while. It’s normal.
Doris was renovating her house because the roof leaked. These things happen to famous people , too. The Globe made a pseudo scandal out of nothing. They put everything out of context,.
This is journalism at its lowest. If I were the writer of that article , I would be ashamed.
The Globe has had Doris on 4 covers in the past 2 years. Obviously, Doris sells for them. I suggest no one buy the Globe and then they’ll stop exploiting Doris.

In Carmel for Doris Day’s Birthday

Filed under: Doris Day General — webmaster @ 1:55 am

Happy Birthday Doris. I hope you had a great Birthday for we sure had a great time celebrating it. We had a great evening at Harry’s in Stravaganza. We were served all of Doris’ favourite foods, like Salmon Chardonnay. We sang songs from Pillow Talk , danced and had lots of fun. We also managed to do some good for the animals.
Doris, we wish you Health and Happiness and we’ll be back next year.
