There’s a facebook campaign that is underway to have Oscars honor Doris Day. Thousands of people have signed on. The goal is one million. I’m all for that. It’s high time the Oscars honor Doris Day. For too long Doris has been ignored and underrated by different institutions such as the Oscars, AFI, etc. She’s a legend and has excelled as an actress and a singer. In addition, she has worked tirelessly for the protection of animals.
We all know that Doris will not show up for the award. It should be given to her anyway. A little tribute number could be created and the Oscar sent to her in Carmel. I’m sure she would even write them a little note of thanks. AMPAS should change its rules for Doris Day.

At last, the movie I’ve been working for the past few years and which was the inspiration for this website is seeing the light of day. This movie was definitely inspired by Doris Day , the person, as well as, Doris Day, the actress.

This is a story of a young woman, Dee Dee, a florist, who loves Doris Day and who hopes to meet a dashing and distinguished man, just like a leading man in a Doris Day movie. She connects with a young man, Adrian, on the Internet, but when she meets him in person, she realizes that he is a would be gangsta rapper and therefore not her type.
He on the other hand is very interested in pursuing a relationship since he finds her both very attractive and he has made a bet that he can seduce her.
He convinces her to give him a chance She does so but he has to perform 3 tasks which are totally uncool for a rapper. Despite his initial reluctance, he is willing because he has a bet to win and he starts to care for her.

This is a true urban fairy tale where , like prince of yore, Adrian has to perform 3 heroic tasks to win the princess, Dee Dee. The road is indeed thorny, especially when she finds out about his deception just as they are starting to have feelings for each other.
