In Carmel for Doris Day’s Birthday

Filed under: Doris Day General — webmaster @ 1:55 am

Happy Birthday Doris. I hope you had a great Birthday for we sure had a great time celebrating it. We had a great evening at Harry’s in Stravaganza. We were served all of Doris’ favourite foods, like Salmon Chardonnay. We sang songs from Pillow Talk , danced and had lots of fun. We also managed to do some good for the animals.
Doris, we wish you Health and Happiness and we’ll be back next year.

I am glad you all had a good time. Wasn’t Diane T. there with you, too? I am sure Doris would be very happy to know that so many of you attended and were all in such good spirits.

Mikey, sorry it took so long to reply. I didn’t see Diane T. The only person I saw from the forum was” little pine tree” with whom I talked a few times and asked on 2 different occasions if she would like to join us for supper, but she declined both times saying she was tired. Yes, we did have a great time. We also raised some money for our furry friends. So it was pleasure joined with a good cause. Doris is truly our inspiration in this.
Doris sounded wonderful on the radio. I’m glad she enjoyed her day as much as we all did.

Doris really did sound great, Sheila. She actually chatted about an hour with the first host and sounded relaxed and happy. It was great that fans the world over could hear how good she sounds. May we have many more years to celebrate her Birthday.

Velda– We are seriously looking forward to next year, and please bring your friend from Ohio again… Memories continue to grow each year of our fun get togethers.
Of all the things Doris Day has meant to me, of all the things she has taught me, of all the things I am thankful for–the most precious to me is all the friends I have made because of Doris. We are friends because of Doris Day, and our mutual respect for each other has turned us into a family–really.
I can hardly wait for us to get together again. Until then, my dear dear friend. bless you and know that you are in my daily thoughts.
Doris Day for me was a childhood obsession turned to a family tradition–My grandmother and aunty introduced me to her beautiful voice, my mom took me to see all of her movies, and I raised my own children with her music and films… Now, my grandchildren in turn are being raised with her music, her movies, and her love for animals… Yes, Doris is a family tradition which will continue to grow as long as there is life on earth. Sweet Doris Dreams…..

A great post , Ro. I feel the same way as you. Doris has certainly enriched our lives in many ways. And our time in Carmel was wonderful. May we have many more.
