Scat is not necessary to sing jazz. Check out a little album called DUET (FEATURING DORIS DAY AND ANDRE PREVIN)…If this is not jazz AT ITS BEST, what is? Also throw in the Harry James/Doris Day collaboration on YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN and the album later, called CUTTIN CAPERS.
